Milan, 26/06/2025 – Starting in 2026, Superstudio will launch a new format that will revolutionize its presence at Milan Design Week. This project reaffirms Superstudio’s cultural commitment to the event that best represents Milan’s creative identity. It’s not just a simple evolution, but a profound transformation designed to meet the demands of a new era—where quality, international scope, and visionary design remain essential values.
The new format offers a multifaceted experience spread across three venues —Superstudio Più, Superstudio Maxi, and the brand-new Superstudio Village— each distinguished by a precise identity and dedicated curatorship. Three spaces, three souls, all united by Superstudio’s signature approach to design.
Three spaces, three vocations
Superstudio Più, located in the heart of the Tortona District, reaffirms its role as a landmark for the leading names in international design. Here, major installations and independent pavilions will come to life, alongside a significant curatorial project developed by Superstudio.
Superstudio Maxi will serve as the stage for a multidisciplinary landscape, where design, art, and architecture intersect. This space is conceived to foster encounters among diverse cultures and forward-thinking visions.
Superstudio Village, a brand-new addition debuting in 2026, will open in the Bovisa district with a program entirely dedicated to young designers, emerging studios, and research-based projects. With a fresh and experimental curatorial approach, Superstudio Village becomes a space of openness and discovery—designed as a true design village, with extended hours and areas for social interaction.
With a total area of 30.000 square meters, Superstudio is tripling the spaces dedicated to Design Week, creating even more opportunities for exchange and cross-pollination of ideas.
A network of places and people
To enhance the visitor experience, Superstudio will upgrade its registration system, allowing access to all venues through a single QR code.
In addition, a dedicated transfer service connecting the three venues is under consideration, aimed at establishing a tailored transportation network.
The goal is to create a broader network that includes other key players of Design Week, active within the same districts where the three Superstudio venues are located.
Deep roots and constant renewal
In 2000, Gisella Borioli and Flavio Lucchini inaugurated Superstudio Più in Via Tortona, transforming a former industrial space into a cultural hub open to experimentation, and playing a decisive role in the creation of the Tortona Design District.
That same year, Superstudio Più hosted the first major design event that sparked the phenomenon of the widespread Fuorisalone, under the guidance of Gisella Borioli and Giulio Cappellini; the 2026 project follows in the footsteps of this over 20-year tradition, carrying its legacy forward by introducing new and meaningful content in districts still largely unexplored within the context of Design Week.
Quality and international partnership as a strategy for the future
The creation of the new format is driven by a clear conviction: quality is the only way to maintain Milan Design Week’s global leadership. It is through careful selection, curatorial depth, and visionary thinking that a long-lasting, inspiring proposition can be built.
The collaboration with ICFF – International Contemporary Furniture Fair and WANTED in New York continues and strengthens, affirming the increasingly close ties between Milan and the world’s design capitals. After two successful editions of the joint talk, the project now evolves, aiming to engage the world’s leading design schools with the aim of transforming one of the venues into a hub for the most forward-thinking design academies during Milan Design Week, a platform to discover fresh visions, research, and experimental projects.
This new initiative is Superstudio’s response to this challenge: a new format, a new map, a new vision of the event.
