New opening – Seoul Molteni&C|Dada Flagship Store

The Molteni Group opens the doors to its new Molteni&C|Dada Flagship Store in Seoul, thereby consolidating its long-lasting partnership with NEXUS, leading designers of prestigious home furnishings and a benchmark for design in Korea. The new Flagship’s prestigious location has international visibility in the heart of Hakdong-ro.

The concept defining this space – measuring over 1,500 square meters with wide glass windows – is played out over 3 levels and symbolises a life marked by Italian flair with the intimacy of a private home.

Inside it showcases a global choice of furniture from the Molteni&C|Dada. The whole interior design range is represented to enable visitors to satisfy whatever home interior requirements they may have, from kitchens to dining rooms, living rooms to bedrooms.

Sophisticated materials, the natural colours of the travertine marble and the sophisticated ceppo stone, together with the slatted wooden ceilings give a strong character to each individual space.

The ground floor features Molteni Group’s icon pieces, effectively showcased in each setting, alternate with luminous touches of green. Highlights include the dynamic Albert seating system, the sleek and modern VVD kitchen, and a nighttime area which features a sequence of sophisticated Anton bed and the generous Master Dressing system, Molteni&C’s exclusive walk-in wardrobe design.

The lower floor, is accessed by the downward staircase and features a loft space. A large position is reserved for the kitchen area with a monumental Armani/Dada Checkers kitchen. A sophisticated living area furnished with a Paul sofa immediately follows.

At the second floor of the prestigious building, visitors will be immersed in a completely Molteni&C|Dada villa with sequence of evocative settings and emotion of alternating spaces and the structures of the products, each representing the hallmark features of the Group’s brands. The space re-creates the intimate and secluded world of the home in a display venue and offers them an all-round immersion in the Molteni world. The result is a single hub of Italian design excellence. This high-impact scenic space contains, frames and enhances the products of the collections designed by Vincent van Duysen, Rodolfo Dordoni, Ron Gilad, Foster + Partners, Jean Nouvel and Patricia Urquiola, amongst others.

Molteni&C|Dada Products
ALBERT design by Vincent Van Duysen
The seating system reflects the Molteni&C corporate profile, based on two key words: tradition and technology, linked by the leitmotif of perfectly clean lines. A flexible and dynamic seating system, rich in content, which shows how research and craftsmanship have always been part and parcel of the company’s DNA. Albert is a brave step forward in the search for a seating system conceived as a flexible and disarticulatable structure, that can reshape the new complexity of modern living, marked by extreme planning.

LUCAS design by Vincent Van Duysen
The sofa is distinguished by special double stitching that outlines the shape, a sophisticated tailoring detail with a clear “deco” impact. Single seat cushion, a lightweight image accentuated by the essential, airy design of the cast aluminium feet for a comfortable way of sitting in a more luxurious, welcoming and involving environment. A perfect balance between traditional and contemporary living combined with the skilful use of quality textiles or leather make Lucas a contemporary sofa where comfort is all.

ELAIN design by Vincent Van Duysen
Elain, is a cosy, curvacious, little armchair designed to fit easily into any setting. Consisting of just two parts, a seat and a backrest, which come together to form a perfectly rounded object that invites you simply to sit down. Ideal for use alongside sofas also designed by Vincent Van Duysen, or even on her own as a comfy armchair or with a twin to create discreet little conversation corners.

CHELSEA design by Rodolfo Dordoni
The Chelsea chair summarises the essence of contemporary design and the memory of tradition. It is an ideal tendency towards the future which brings with it the knowledge. Chelsea is a series of chairs in varied styles, particularly well-suited to dining rooms where the pleasure of good food is accompanied by the pleasure of cultured, cosmopolitan conversation. With a frame of simple design but elegant proportions, it comes in three backrest options: two with arms, one without.

KENSINGTON design by Rodolfo Dordoni
Kensington, the line of armchairs designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, successfully presented at the 2018 Salone del Mobile, now includes an additional element: a Bergère armchair in which to relax, meditate or simply chill out. The four-ray central metal base on which the structural hot-moulded polyurethane frame rests, is again covered in leather. All-in-one seat and backrest, in this version complete with side headrests, offering maximum comfort.

BELGRAVIA design by Rodolfo Dordoni
Belgravia, the aristocratic district of London with its impressive Victorian mansions, inspired this family of tables with their refined fluid shapes. A bridge-shaped wooden frame, with a double inclination outline and a sophisticated joinery technique, enables the legs and the load-bearing beam of the table to be joined.

MASTER DRESSING design by Vincent Van Duysen
Vincent Van Duysen has designed Master Dressing, a walk-in wardrobe system that completes the wide range of nightime systems offered by Molteni&C. Master Dressing perfectly complements the Gliss Master wardrobes thanks to the use of coordinated internal fittings and aesthetic finishes, thereby providing functional and impactful walkin closets.

RIBBON design by Vincent Van Duysen
Ribbon is a fabulously soft textile bed with a young, modern design, using natural materials.

Ribbon, by Vincent Van Duysen, marks the Flemish designer’s debut with Molteni&C. The textile or leather upholstery hooks up to a ribbon, with leather details, that runs all the way round the headboard and bed and serves both a structural and an aesthetic purpose.

Gio Ponti Collection
The Gio Ponti collection, which Molteni&C dedicates to the great designer, was formed in 2012 in partnership with the Gio Ponti Archives and under the artistic direction of Studio Cerri & Associati. A tribute to one of the most complex architects of the 20th century and an opportunity to exchange views with history, thereby renewing attention for the leading figures of Italian and international architecture. In a career spanning more than fifty years, Gio Ponti (Milan, 1891-1979) founded Domus magazine, lectured at Milan’s Politecnico University, painted and designed everything – buildings, interiors, furniture, objects and furnishings for his homes.

Designs which, without Molteni&C’s intervention, would have been lost, depriving us forever of a legacy that belongs to Italy’s cultural heritage.

VVD design Vincent Van Duysen
Vincent Van Duysen reinterprets the recessed handle detail in a modern and sophisticated key, working on the contrast between the slim side and end units and the considerable thickness of the worktops, which fit in, interrupting the linearity of the worktop, with stone sink bowls. The alternating materials and the interplay of solids and voids give rise to a dynamic and at once sophisticated kitchen. The kitchen gains a new architectural look, also thanks to the elegant ceiling units and slim, transparent glass cupboards with soft-closing micro-hinges.

Hi-Line6 Frame Door Design Dada R&D
A simple, unitary, linear design which, in 2018, is embellished with the new Frame Door. Frame made of titan aluminium and pewter, with a selection of quality finishes for the fronts. The top of the door is shaped to ensure an ergonomic grip.

The composition is completed with the new system of shelves with built-in VVD hood and with the new Hi-Line6 snack bar, with its solid light oak and black oak top, featuring bevelled corners and profiles, on an aluminium frame.
